| Okay. The OC is just crazy this season. CRAAAAAZY, I tell you. I mean, what's with all this interdating/incest/whatever it is. Hm? It's just getting way too weird... everyone's in love with someone else or doing stupid things. *grumbles* See... this is why I don't watch TV. Dumb things happen on TV, like people falling in love with their adopted mother's half sister, or ex-convicts trying to rape their brother's girlfriend, or other things of that nature. Sheesh. WHERE'S THE REALISM, PEOPLE?!?! Or am I the only one who doesn't see that happening in real life?
Anyway.
Now that I'm done school and not reading big, heavy textbooks, I can do a little bit of leisure reading. <3 Whee!! My sisters got the Shopaholics series by Sophie Kinsella for me, for my birthday. So yesterday I finished Confessions of a Shopaholic, and now I'm working my way through Shopaholic Takes Manhattan. I love love love these books!! They're so funny, and I love Sophie Kinsella's style of writing. And Rebecca Bloomwood, the main character in the books, makes me feel a whole heck of a lot better about those times I've gone on shopping sprees and... unbalanced my bank balance as a result.
I think, for the most part, I'm a pretty reasonable shopper. I mean, yeah, I've made some not-so-reasonable purchases before. Like my blades, which I've used a total of three times so far..... but they were on sale, so it was the best time to buy them, since I probably would've gotten a pair sooner or later anyway. And then there were those K-Swiss shoes that I really didn't need and were one and half sizes too big for me, but I loved looking at them so much that I bought them anyway. Good thing Jo bought them off of me afterwards, otherwise they'd still be sitting in my closet like a sacred item rather than being put to good use. And there was that time I went to Shoppers in January, and they had sooooooo much stuff on sale, so I came home with a hundred buck's worth of make-up and other junk... but on the upside, I probably SAVED like half that much because of the sales... although Shoppers is pricey to begin with... never mind. But every girl needs make-up, right? (Rebecca Bloomwood would call it an investment *nods* Never mind the fact she's always in debt) And that Strawberry Shortcake calendar was just too cute, and the same goes for the Blue's Clues sticker valentines. But I have made some pretty good purchases before as well. Like... uhhh....
....
Ahhmm....
OH YES!! That $10 cardigan I got from Siblings. I mean, how often do you find a tank top and cardigan set for ten bucks, right? Never mind that I already have two similar sets of the same colour... TEN BUCKS!!! You can't go wrong with something so dirt cheap. Plus, I don't like the other ones that much anyway. See. I'm a good shopper. *smug look* And you have to give me credit for all those times I felt bad for overspending and actually WENT BACK to the store and RETURNED the item. Like that gorgeous black RW & Co. dress I bought. It was SO DARN CUTE!! And it goes all swishy at the hem when I twirl. But it was a little long for me lengthwise (darn my being vertically challenged!), which is partly why I returned it, since it would've needed major minor alterations... but hey... at least I was being responsible. And then I went to the States and got THREE black dresses with the money, so HA!
Yes.
And I think that will be my random journal entry of the day. I'm very determined to keep this darn thing updated over my extra long holiday. Enjoy. |
